The CFPC is seeking a respected family physician leader to provide independent oversight of administrative reviews, reconsiderations, and decision-making activities across the Professional Standards and Certification (PSC) in Family Medicine Division.
Administrative Reviews Director
Reporting to the Executive Director, Professional Standards and Certification in Family Medicine, the Administrative Reviews Director serves as an impartial safeguard that promotes procedural fairness, consistency, transparency, and integrity in the application of standards, policies, and processes related to certification, accreditation, assessment, and professional development.
The Director provides expert advice to leadership and committees, oversees the resolution of complex and sensitive matters, and identifies opportunities to strengthen decision-making frameworks, risk controls, and organizational practices. This includes addressing matters involving certification eligibility, test accommodations, examination standings, Certificates of Added Competence, and continuing professional development, as well as working with Legal Services and departmental leaders to identify policy or process gaps and recommend corrective action.
The successful candidate will be a respected family physician (CCFP) with extensive experience in professional standards, certification, and administrative decision-making within a complex healthcare environment. They will bring exceptional judgment, integrity, and diplomacy, with a demonstrated ability to resolve complex matters fairly, consistently, and transparently. A collaborative and influential leader, the new Director will possess outstanding analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills, along with a deep understanding of family medicine and the Canadian healthcare system. The role requires a CCFP certification, and a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience with bilingualism (English and French) preferred. The administrative time commitment is 0.2FTE.

The salary range for this 0.2 FTE position is $36,863.52 - $46,079.28. This role is based in Mississauga, and the successful candidate may have the ability to work remotely in accordance with the Organization’s policies and procedures dealing with remote and/or hybrid work arrangements in effect from time-to-time. Our current hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm Eastern Time.
This is a new role for the organization with an expected appointment in fall 2026.

Le CMFC est à la recherche d’un·e médecin de famille chevronné·e possédant des qualités de leadership pour assurer une supervision indépendante des demandes de réexamen, de reconsidération des résultats et des prises de décision au sein de la division Normes professionnelles et certification (PSC) en médecine de famille.
Directeur ou directrice des recours administratifs
Le directeur ou la directrice des recours administratifs, qui relève de la directrice générale, Normes professionnelles et certification en médecine de famille, garantit l’impartialité et promeut l’équité procédurale, la cohérence, la transparence et l’intégrité dans l’application des normes, des politiques et des processus liés à la certification, à l’agrément, aux évaluations et au développement professionnel. Le directeur ou la directrice offre des conseils spécialisés aux membres de la direction et de divers comités, supervise le traitement de dossiers complexes et délicats et repère les occasions de renforcer les cadres décisionnels, le contrôle des risques et les pratiques organisationnelles. Il ou elle devra notamment aborder des questions relatives à l’admissibilité à la certification, aux accommodements pour les examens, au statut des candidats aux examens, aux certificats de compétence additionnelle et au développement professionnel continu. Dans l’exercice de ses fonctions, il ou elle devra également collaborer avec les services juridiques et les responsables des départements afin de cerner les lacunes dans les politiques ou les processus et de recommander des mesures correctives.
La personne candidate retenue doit être un·e médecin de famille (CCMF) reconnu·e qui possède une vaste expérience en matière de normes professionnelles, de certification et de prise de décisions administratives au sein d’un milieu complexe de soins de santé. Elle fera preuve d’un jugement, d’une intégrité et d’un sens de la diplomatie hors pair, ainsi que d’une capacité avérée à résoudre des dossiers complexes de manière équitable, cohérente et transparente. La personne recherchée, un·e leader·euse influent·e qui prône la collaboration, doit posséder d’excellentes compétences en analyse, en communication et en établissement de relations, ainsi qu’une connaissance approfondie de la médecine de famille et du système de santé canadien. Le poste exige la désignation CCMF et au moins dix (10) ans d’expérience pertinente. La maîtrise du français, en plus de l’anglais, constitue un atout. La charge de travail administrative correspond à 0,2 ETP.

La personne retenue pourrait avoir la possibilité de travailler à distance, conformément aux politiques et procédures de l’organisation relatives aux modalités de travail à distance et/ou hybride en vigueur de temps à autre. Nos heures d’ouverture actuelles sont du lundi au vendredi de 8 h à 17 h, heure de l’Est.
